Martindale PD700 – 700V Universal 2 Range Proving Device

This Proving Unit is suitable for testing ANY MAKE of 2 Pole Voltage and Continuity Testers.

Product Details

The PD700 Proving Device, is a portable and sleek unit, designed for the testing of contact voltage detectors up to 700V.

With around 1000 electrical accidents at work reported to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) each year and 25 resulting in death, there are simple precautions that need to be taken when working with or near electricity.

The most important safety consideration must be to ensure that all circuits and equipment which are being worked on are proved to be dead. Whilst the most obvious way to do this is to lock off a circuit and ensure no live source exists by means of a voltage indicator, how do you know your voltage indicator is performing correctly?

The only way to offer complete peace of mind when it comes to your safety is to check your tester before and after you’ve proved the circuit to be dead with a Proving Unit such as the PD700.

The PD700 Proving Unit offers users of voltage indicators enhanced operator safety as it can generate high voltages up to 700V but also lower voltages down to 50V which can still be potentially dangerous.

Suitable for use with Drummond Test Lamps, Digital Multimeters and Low Impedance Voltage Testers to ensure they are working correctly, the PD700 also features an indicator which illuminates when lamps and voltage testers draw high currents.

Lightweight and compact for easy transportation between sites, the PD700 will go a long way to ensure compliance with safe working practices.

Complete with batteries, the PD700’s supplied with a two year guarantee.

Product Details

The Martindale PD700 is a 700V AC proving device, it features a low 50V check as well as a high 700V check and is designed to enable voltage indicators to be fully checked, in compliance with Health & Safety recommendations. Using a voltage indicator without first proving it is working correctly could prove fatal.

The PD700 features a low 50V check as well as a high 700V check and is compatible with ANY MAKE of 2 Pole Voltage and Continuity Testers.

This model is suitable for use with any two pole voltage tester, with LED or LCD indication.

The PD700 can also check Drummond and other filament test lamps as its output is sufficient to illuminate the bulb.

This is the top of the range Martindale Proving Unit. It is suitable for testing indicators up to 690V.

Two extra features included:

A low voltage checks that the voltage signal indicator will illuminate at 50V, which’s the threshold of danger, then automatically switches to high voltage output.

Another light illuminates to show that an indicator’s drawing a high current, showing that the indicator can collapse phantom voltages.

This model’s not designed for use with multimeters.
