Key Features:

  • The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester is suitable for conducting full single- and three-phase insulation testing. As indicated above it is able to conduct single- and three-phase RCD testing between 10mA and 1A.
  • The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester’s NEW non-trip loop impedance testing technology also enables loop impedance testing of 10mA type AC and A RCDs. Additionally, NEW non-trip loop impedance technology prevents RCDs influencing the total loop impedance value and increases the speed of testing: non-trip loop impedance tests can be performed in eight seconds.
  • Furthermore, loop impedance tests are accompanied by a Confidence Meter, a NEW feature present on the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester. The meter will indicate the degree of confidence in the accuracy of the loop impedance measurement. This feature is useful as loop impedance values are particularly susceptible to changes in circuit noise. The Confidence Meter is designed to improve reliability; the digital ARC indicates the analytical process, and the measurement is continually monitored and adjusted in reference to the circuit noise.
  • Another NEW function present on the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester is its ability to test electric vehicle charge point RCDs; it includes automatic test sequences and a 6mA DC test (requires OPTIONAL accessory) for this purpose.
  • Measurements are viewable via the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester’s large, clear backlit display with a digital/ analogue arc for indicating fluctuating readings and a dual digital readout that displays precise readings and test parameters in parallel. For instance, the dual digital readout will display the output voltage used for the insulation test as well as the resistance value in MΩ. It is also possible to save readings to the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester’s internal memory (capacity for 1000 measurements); these results can be downloaded via Bluetooth.
  • Accessing the required measurement function and range is easy using the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester’s colour coded function controls. In addition to improving the efficiency and ease of testing, these controls also reduce the possibility of selecting the incorrect function or range. This instrument does not include complicated and/or hidden measurement menus.
  • Furthermore, the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester features an ambidextrous design with dual TEST and LOCK buttons on either side of the unit, ensuring that it is easy to operate for both right- and left-handed users. Moreover, the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester offers an automatic test start, removing the need to press the TEST button altogether. This function is particularly useful when holding probes and/or when using the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester whilst on a ladder.
  • The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester has also been designed to stand independently; alternatively, it can be hung around the operator’s neck using the included neck strap. It is also equipped with internal rechargeable batteries that have a charge time of under four hours, allowing the user to maximise uptime.
  • The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester also features a rubber over-mould which provides additional protection in tough environments and has an IP rating of 54 ensuring that it is resistant to dust and water ingress.
  • Furthermore, the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester is EN61010 CAT IV safety rated: it is able to withstand accidental misuse and voltage transients. The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester’s safety rating also means that it can be connected anywhere within the low voltage network on the single and three-phase system.
  • Additionally, the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester will provide visual and audible warnings when a hazardous voltage is detected. If the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester detects a live voltage during insulation and continuity tests it will indicate the value of the voltage on the display; should this voltage exceed a safe level the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester will halt testing and issue a warning beep. These features not only protect the user but also work to prolong the longevity of the instrument.

Product Details:

The Megger EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge Point Adaptor is an easy-to-use instrument, offering an electrical contractor an extensive suite of tools designed for thoroughly testing Mode 3 AC Electric Vehicle charge points. Despite its compact size, when paired with the correct connectors the adaptor is capable of checking both the safety & function of all single or three phase EV charge points. This instrument boasts an input voltage of up to 250V in a single phase system, up to 430V in a three phase system and input frequency of 50/60Hz.

Built to simulate the connection of an electrical vehicle to an under test charging point, the Megger EVCA210-UK adaptor is an EVSE tester which can determine if dangerous voltages are present on the PE. The intuitive user interface includes push buttons and a tactile rotary dial for streamlined testing. Alongside the PE pre-test button feature, a CP Error “E” simulation imitates an error on the control pilot circuit whilst a PE Error simulation (Earth Fault) feigns a disconnect of the PE circuit. The rotary switch alternates between providing Proximity Pilot (PP) State simulation and Control Pilot (CP) state simulation. Both tests ensure correct disconnection of the output of the charge point under examination.

Measurements on live conductors can be performed by the EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge Point Adaptor by utilising either the front mounted mains socket or the 4mm connection ports (L1, L2, L3, N and PE). In addition the tester comes complete with two additional CP signal terminals with which an engineer can measure the CP signal using an oscilloscope. For advanced compatibility, this EVSE tester is supplied with:

  • Type 2 Plug for fixed cables with vehicle connectors or charging points featuring panel mounted socket outlets
  • Type 1 Plug for charging points with fixed cable and vehicle connector.

The lightweight and IP54 rated Megger EVCA210-UK Adaptor is sold with a bespoke soft carry case alongside 2 connection cables as standard. Rated CAT II 300V, the device conducts test in accordance with IEC/EN 61851-1 and IEC/HD 60364-7-722 regulations. It is compliant with Low Voltage Directive LVD 2014/35 and in line with EC/EN 61010-1:2010 and IEC/EN 61010-2-030:2010 safety standards.
