Socket & See VIP ESI 2-Pole Voltage Indicator

The Socket & See VIP ESI 2-Pole Voltage Indicator is specifically designed for smart meters, having been developed and field tested within several of the leading SMART Metering and Utility companies within the UK. The instrument can carry out a clear and unique physical impedance check to indicate a high or low impedance, determining if the item under test has any dead short connections. An operator may use the VIP ESI to verify and troubleshoot circuits or electrical installations with a voltage range between 50 – 400V AC, although for added safety the 2-Poles are capable of withstanding up to 600V.

When the VIP ESI detects a voltage it displays high or low impedance through an impressive dual bank of colour coded LEDs which operate at a range of 50V, 110V, 230V or 400V. A red LED illuminates to indicate an impedance of less than 100ohms, whilst conversely a green LED shines when the impedance is in excess of 100 ohms.

Nearby live cable creates an induced or ghost voltage which often invalidates results, the VIP ESI features ghost suppression to negate this problem. However where most devices require manual operation to remove these incorrect voltages, over 50V the VIP ESI automatically begins an impedance test with LED indication. Interchangeable straight and right-angled GS38 compliant test prods add further practical applications to the tester.

The VIP ESI boasts an intuitive secondary base display, complete with its own set of colour coded bright LEDs, to enable operation capability from a safe arms-length distance. No batteries, no buttons, an IP54 and CAT IV 600V rating, this is a supremely safe and extremely user-friendly piece of kit.

Key Features:

  • 2-Pole Voltage Indicator detects dead shorts
  • Specifically designed for smart meters
  • Unique physical impedance check for high or low impedance
  • Voltage range of 50 – 400V AC
  • LED indication scale of 50V, 110V, 230V and 400V
  • A Red LED indicates an impedance below 100Ω
  • A Green LED indicates an impedance above 100Ω
  • Automatically surpasses ghost voltages above 50Hz
  • Interchangeable straight and right-angled GS38 compliant test prods
  • Secondary base display with colour LEDs
  • No batteries needed
  • IP54
  • CAT IV 600V

Socket & See EPF Pro Hazardous Voltage and Phase Finder

The Socket & See EPF Pro Hazardous Voltage and Phase Finder is a dual-function hazardous voltage and live-phase finder specifically created for the metering industry. Built to detect voltages above 50V, the device has a measurement range of 50 – 600VAC and is designed to thoroughly protect operatives from dangerous circuits.

While the EPF Pro uses direct contact for measuring (a more certain method than non-contact), safety is ensured by way of Capacitive Coupling. This method works even whilst the engineer is wearing PPE. Plus with the batteries running the length of the handle, wherever the user chooses to hold the device they are holding the battery which equates to more repeatable results with less training required.

A heartbeat blue LED/beep monitor indicates the EPF Pro is functioning correctly and a pulsating red LED, combined with audible warning tone, indicates if greater than 50VAC is present. Featuring a robust design and IP54 rating, there is no need to use touch pads or any other direct contact method with the EPF PRO which makes for an extremely safe device.

Key Features:

  • Dual-function dangerous voltage and live phase detector
  • Detect voltages above 50V
  • Measurement range of 50 – 600VAC
  • Utilises Capacitive Coupling for safe, reliable results
  • Audible/LED warning indication for voltage over 50VAC
  • Can be operated while wearing personal protective equipment
  • Flashing LED and tone indicates correct operation
  • IP54 rated
  • CAT IV 300V

Socket & See Proving Unit SP400

The Socket & See Proving Unit SP400 provides a safe and practical way of ascertaining if a multimeter or a two pole Voltage Indicator (VIs) is functioning correctly. An essential test, to be performed both before and after an instrument is used as advised in the Working Practice for electricians. In addition, the SP400 also features a test pad for operators to prove their non contact voltage detector.

Utilising an intelligent volt ramp for testing, the SP400 generates a test voltage which replicates a realistic AC mains supply frequency of 50Hz, for both safety and consistency. The unit generates between 50 – 690V in 5 steps (50V, 100V, 230V, 400V & 690V) with a true AC waveform output for reliable results. The Sp400 will also test two-pole VIs which use small incandescent lamps as evidence of voltage being present.

The bright LEDs of the lightweight and compact SP400 Proving Unit provides the electrical engineer with clear indication of voltage. Battery powered, with a rugged outer case and auto off function, this is an efficient, easy to use and versatile device.

Key Features:

  • Verify Multimeters and two pole Voltage Indicators are operating correctly
  • Test Voltage produced at 50Hz
  • Generates 50-690V in 5 steps; 50V, 100V, 230V, 400V & 690V
  • True AC waveform output
  • Test pad for non contact voltage indicators
  • Voltage ramp testing
  • Bright LED’s for clear indication
  • Auto off feature
  • Battery powered
  • Lightweight, Rugged Enclosure for versatility

Socket & See VVD PRO AC Voltage Detector

The Socket & See VVD PRO AC Voltage Detector is a handy device capable of alerting the user to a discovered voltage through two distinct alerts.

When a voltage within the given range 50 – 1000V AC is detected by the VVD PRO, a red LED illuminates and a vibration can be felt. These functions make the detector particularly useful in noisy or dim areas. The non contact detector also includes a more balanced sensitivity for more accurate results.

Designed to be compact and sturdy, the VVD PRO includes an incorporated clip and bright LED flashlight. Suitable for CAT IV use, this instruments is an ideal inclusion in any electrical engineers kit.

Key Features:

  • Non contact voltage detection
  • Operating voltage range of 50 – 1000V AC
  • Red flashing LED for visual indication
  • Physical indication given through vibration feature
  • Balanced sensitivity for better accuracy
  • Lightweight and pocket sized
  • Built-in LED flashlight
  • Suitable for CAT IV use

Socket and See SOK32 Socket Tester

The Socket & See SOK32 Check Plug is a fast and easy to use Socket Tester that ensures that 13A UK sockets are wired correctly as, indicated by all three high brightness, long life neon’s illuminating. Potential faults are indicated by one or more neon’s failing to light. This failsafe system means that any neon not lit indicates a problem! A great Socket tester.

The Socket & See quick test socket tester is easy to find in your toolkit thanks to it’s eye catching colour. The SOK32 Check Plug induces less than 5mA of earth leakage, well below RCD trip thresholds. The the SOK32 only verifies the presence of an earth, it does not assess its quality.

Socket and See SOK32 Socket Tester Key Features:

  • Bright LEDs out-perform fragile old style neons
  • Logical “Green for Go” LED indication
  • New circuitry means no tripping RCDs
  • Detects good plus 13 wiring fault conditions
