Product Description:
The most prominent physical feature of the Testo 770-1 True RMS Clamp Meter is its fully retractable pincer clamp. This pincer aids the user by bringing access to very tight wiring because, without the obstacle of a hard jaw, the fixed part of the clamp can be easily inserted behind a wire before the retractable pincer section comes up to meet it (watch the video to see this in action). This is especially useful when taking readings inside wiring cabinets and other awkward locations.
In addition to its unique retractable clamp, the Testo 770-1 effectively and accurately performs all the major functions required of a clamp meter over impressive measurement ranges. Readings can be taken for AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, frequency and capacitance whilst there are also options for continuity and diode testing.
The TRMS measurement function means that readings are accurate whilst the device also automatically detects whether current or voltage is AC or DC so readings take less time and risk fewer mistakes. Alongside measurement functions such as Inrush current measurement, hold and Min/Max, automatic parameter detection extends to diode, resistance, capacitance and continuity, thus making the Testo 770-1 extremely user-friendly.
The two-line display allows the user to view two real-time readings at once and the device is light, small and portable. Overall, it brings accuracy and practicality to measuring several different electrical variables through its unique pincer clamp.

- The three instruments in the testo 770 clamp meter family are ideally suited for current measurement in switching cabinets. One of the two pincer arms can be fully retracted into the instrument. This unique grab mechanism means that cables in tight switching cabinets can be easily grabbed. The automatic measurement parameter detection also ensures reliable work: in the current and voltage area, all three instruments detect direct and alternating current and select other parameters such as resistance, continuity, diode and capacitance automatically.
- The testo 770-1 model is the standard version for daily measuring tasks, including starting current measurement.
- The testo 770-2 also has a μA range as well as an integrated temperature adapter for all type K thermocouples.
- In addition to that, the testo 770-3 includes real-time power measurements (Watts), Power Factor, and Bluetooth. The free Testo Smart App can be used for remote viewing, monitoring, data logging, and creating reports via Bluetooth. The powerful app allows you to create custom reports that include photos, data, and graphs that can be saved or sent via email.

⏱ Dispatch & Delivery Timing
We aim to dispatch all in-stock orders promptly, but delivery depends on both when you order and which service you select.
- UK orders: placed by 2:00 PM Monday–Friday are usually dispatched the same day.
- International orders: placed by 2:00 PM Monday–Thursday are usually dispatched the same day.
Orders placed after these times are processed the next working day. This means delivery may occur the following day or later, depending on the courier and service selected.
Once dispatched, your chosen delivery service determines how quickly your parcel arrives:
- Standard services We use Royal Mail Tracked 24 or DHL Parcel as our ‘Standard’ services. They are not guaranteed to arrive next working day.
- Premium services (e.g. Royal Mail Special Delivery or DHL by Noon) offer guaranteed delivery windows.
If your order is time-sensitive, we strongly recommend choosing a guaranteed service or contacting us before ordering to confirm availability.
Please note: For logistical reasons, we may occasionally adjust the delivery method selected at checkout.
