Martindale VI13800 Voltage Indicator

The new VI13800 is identical to the industry standard VI13700 except that it doesn’t have a fuse.

This is so that it will comply with BS EN61243-3 2010 which came into force in May 2013. This standard bans the use of fuses in 2 pole voltage indicators.

The VI13800 shows all the key safety characteristics of the older VI-13700/2. It has retractable prods, cable with an inner cover of a different colour to quickly identify damage cables and impedances at both ends to limit current flow if a lead should be broken, eg. by being sheared in a steel cabinet.

Martindale PD440 – 440V Proving Device

Martindale Electric’s New Proving Devices PD440 and PD430 are portable, battery powered and designed for the testing of contact voltage detectors up to 450V to ensure test lamps and voltage testers are operating correctly for safe working.

Suitable for use with Drummond Test Lamps, Digital Multimeters and Low Impedance Voltage Testers, Martindale’s new Proving Devices offer a greater level of operator safety as they generate voltages up 450V.

Voltage indicators should be proven at the normal working voltage. Use of higher voltages than seen in the real world can be misleading.

The PD430 adds a lower voltage range of 50V. This is because 50V can be lethal so it is important for extra safety that you can prove your voltage indicator will illuminate at 50V, which is a requirement of IEC 61243.

Compact and lightweight, the new proving devices can easily be carried around in an electricians’ tool kit so test instruments can be proved before and after working on any circuit as advocated by the Electrical Safety Council.

The PD430 and PD440 proving devices are supplied complete with batteries as with all instrumentation supplied by Martindale Electric, come with a comprehensive two year guarantee.

The Martindale PD440 is a 440V AC proving device, designed to enable voltage indicators to be fully checked, in compliance with Health & Safety recommendations.

The PD440 is designed to prove the working of voltage detectors used on single and 3 phase supplies.

The PD440 is compatible with the Martindale VI13700G, the new Martindale VI13700/2 & the fuseless VI13800 Voltage Indicators. The PD440 can also be used to check Drummond and other filament test lamps as well as standard multimeters and other manufacturers two pole voltage indicators.

Using a voltage indicator without first proving it is working correctly could prove fatal.

Martindale TC69 VIPD Soft Carry Case

The TC69 is a soft carry case for use with two pole voltage & continuity testers and a MARTINDALE proving unit.

The front pocket, for the MARTINDALE Proving unit, has a clear front with two holes cut into it so it can be used without having to remove it, and a handy neck strap is also supplied.

This case is compatible for any of the following Martindale Proving Units:

PD430
PD440
PD690
PD700

The TC69 case can also be used with any brand of 2 pole voltage & continuity tester with a maximum length of 245mm or less.

This case wil also accept a Drummond Test Lamp less than 245mm in length as well as one of the above Proving Units.
