It is fair to say that when it comes to a first line of defence in electrical safety, socket testers are a great way of keeping anyone working with electricity safe. Consequently, there are a huge variety of socket testers on the market and it can be difficult to choose which one is best suited to the application you are working on. All socket testers will check basic connections have been made correctly, however three new Martindale Electric socket testers give professionals more features and less headaches when it comes to choosing the right unit for the job in hand.

Martindale Electric’s BZ701, for example, not only detects the basic 28 socket wiring fault conditions and checks the mains voltage level, it also safely detects Line-Neutral reversal (cross polarity) at the incoming supply. The polarity swap test detects fault conditions on PME/ TN-C-S systems (the most common type of supply) that cannot be identified by normal socket testers. It is easily activated by using the touch pad on the BZ701. Correct polarity is indicated by three flashing green LEDs. A fault condition is clearly indicated by three red LEDs and a warning buzzer.

Key features:

  • Incorporates all standard BZ101 indications for both correct wirings as well as 28 different fault conditions.
  • Checks the polarity of the incoming supply via the Blue Polarity Touchpad on the front of the unit.
  • Correct incoming supply polarity is indicated by the flashing green LED’s accompanied by the continuous buzzer.
  • Incorrect supply polarity will be indicated by the LED’s turning RED and a pulse tone on the buzzer. This will continue after the removal of the finger from the touchpad and confirming a need for further investigation.
  • The BZ701 has a standby mode which activates after 10 minutes. In this situation, the lights will extinguish and only the centre LED will flash AMBER. The tone will also sound every 5 seconds to alert the user.

⏱ Dispatch & Delivery Timing

We aim to dispatch all in-stock orders promptly, but delivery depends on both when you order and which service you select.

  • UK orders: placed by 2:00 PM Monday–Friday are usually dispatched the same day.
  • International orders: placed by 2:00 PM Monday–Thursday are usually dispatched the same day.

Orders placed after these times are processed the next working day. This means delivery may occur the following day or later, depending on the courier and service selected.

Once dispatched, your chosen delivery service determines how quickly your parcel arrives:

  • Standard services We use Royal Mail Tracked 24 or DHL Parcel as our ‘Standard’ services. They are not guaranteed to arrive next working day.
  • Premium services (e.g. Royal Mail Special Delivery or DHL by Noon) offer guaranteed delivery windows.

If your order is time-sensitive, we strongly recommend choosing a guaranteed service or contacting us before ordering to confirm availability.

Please note: For logistical reasons, we may occasionally adjust the delivery method selected at checkout. For example, smaller items may be better suited to letterbox-friendly packaging or may be at greater risk of delay or loss via certain services.   • Asia-Pacific & Rest of World: 3–5 working days

💰 Taxes, Customs & Import Duties

International customers are responsible for any applicable taxes, customs charges, or import duties.
These are not included in our product or shipping prices.

Your courier will typically provide a secure payment link for any import charges once your parcel reaches customs.
If import fees are refused and the parcel is returned, we will issue a refund minus all incurred shipping and return costs.
